Shriver Job Corps Center
Once James graduated from his basic training program at Job Corps, he decided to further his education and head to the Shriver Job Corps Center, where he earned his certification in Advanced Security and Protective Services. After graduating from the Advanced Training program in 2009, James rejoined the Shriver Job Corps Center as a staff member, becoming a safety and security advisor on campus. After seven years there, he moved to the New Hampshire center in 2016, where he started as a Center Standards and Incentives officer and later a Security Officer. James was then promoted to Center Shift Manager, developing positive relationships with students and staff. James’ biggest piece of advice to current and prospective students is to “accept that it is going to be a tough transition and there will be hardships along the way, but always remember your commitment will all be worth it in the end.”
