Real Stories

Don’t just take our word for it. Check out these stories from real Job Corps students who have trained in this advanced training program.

Kendale

Gary Job Corps Center

Kendale graduated from Gary Job Corps in 2005, but that turned out to be just the beginning of his Job Corps journey. After receiving Advanced Human Services training, he later returned to Gary Job Corps as a staff member and has since held several different roles. “[My Job Corps experience] was above and beyond,” Kendale said. “It showed me a different way of life and that I can do hard things and conquer my fears—it gave me the push and drive and motivation I needed to reach my goals.” Throughout his training, multiple instructors made a lasting impact on his life by believing in him and not letting him give up on his goals. Now, as a staff member at Job Corps, he’s able to share his personal story with students and encourage them to reach their goals the same way his instructors supported him.
